Basic Eligibility Requirements for US Citizenship

Must be 18 years old or older
Must have a Green Card for 5 years (or 3 years if married to a U.S. citizen)
Must meet continuous residence requirements
Must meet physical presence requirements
Must have lived in the state for at least 3 months
Must demonstrate good moral character
Must be able to read, write, and speak basic English (unless eligible for an exemption)
Must pass the U.S. civics test
Must be willing to take the Oath of Allegiance
Special categories may apply (military, asylum/refugee, etc.)
